This event will give you an opportunity to meet artist Nayan Kulkarni who will explain the ideas, design development and complex technologies behind Viell, a new commission for Chelmsford to be installed in autumn 2018, and other artworks.

Nayan Kulkarni will also be talking about his research and thinking behind the innovative and ambitious light art installations created over the last fifteen years including recent projects in Hull, City of Culture.

Nayan Kulkarni has a national reputation for producing innovative light art installations in architecture, the public realm and galleries.

He has created some of the most ambitious light works in the UK and has a reputation for delivering place specific artworks that transform the familiar creating often moving experiences of light and place.

A temporary video and sound installation created by Nayan Kulkarni in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University School of Architecture students, which explores Chelmsford as a cinematic image space, will be on view during the evening talk.

The event will be introduced by Frances Lord, Public Art Consultant.
